It’s been a busy last few months here at Lincluden Cottage. My mom came to visit last week, and I’ve been in hibernation mode! I’m located in Rothesay New Brunswick (Eastern Canada, close to the border of Maine) and so far, we have had a fairly mild winter with little snow. This winter, the weather pattern has been snow followed by rain leaving very little accumulation. This photo was taken two weeks ago.
Three days ago we experienced our first really bad snow storm…..and today we are being hit again!!! For those of you who live in the south, brace yourself as the following images may be disturbing!!!
By now you must be wondering how we survive this?! I’ll share with you my storm tips and secrets! First, all New Brunswicker’s have a stock pile of what we call “storm chips”! Prior to the storm, the grocery stores are bombarded with shoppers all after one thing in particular……potato chips! No, I’m not making this up! This New Brunswick phenomenon even made the National News!
Adrian is going through another round of casting due to idiopathic toe walking (mild cerebral palsy) so he’s not the happiest camper, but snow days are great for cuddling! O.k. and he “may” have had M and M’s for breakfast!
It’s the perfect day to curl up by the fire with a cup of tea and read a book!
I’m obsessed with Teavana! Carmel Almond Amaretti is currently my favourite flavour! Words can’t express the amazing aroma with a blend of apple coconut and cinnamon!Teavana.com You can shop here: Teavana.com A little goes a long way! I reuse my tea a many times during the day and then place the tea in a glass of water over night to make ice tea for the next day! 😉
Nothing better than a spooky book about a snow storm on a day like this!
A sneak peak at my latest purchase for the kitchen! This large, bright and happy wall art from Pier One is cheerful!
As crazy as this sounds, it’s a wonderful feeling to be inside in my pyjamas cozy and cuddled up on the couch listening to my son play the piano as I look outside at the storm! The dig out and clean up will not be fun, but today I’m focusing on the here and now.
Happy Monday everyone!!! If you are in the sunshine, enjoy!!!!!! If it’s storming where you are, I hope you have some storm chips to comfort you! Stay safe!
Thank you for visiting! Your comments make my day! 😉
