Fall is in the air! Winter is a long season in New Brunswick, so I try to hang on to Summer as long as possible. The last few weeks have been warm, however, this morning there was a chill in the air suggesting Autumn is upon us. The leaves are beginning to turn, the farmers markets are bringing in truck loads of mums and an abundance of pumpkin spice is almost an epidemic! 😉 Kidding. I love pumpkin spice! My fall motto is you can NEVER have too many pumpkins, mums or pumpkin spice!
Here come Jen and Toby down the lane to meet Mabel and I for our morning walk. I love the feeling of the crisp air along with the distinct aroma of the leaves turning.
Today I began the transition into Fall. I haven’t “Autumnatized” inside as of yet, but here is a pretty vignette for outdoors.
As the leaves drop we will see more and more of the river behind us. Today, although I haven’t bought my pumpkins yet, I decided to create a very simple Fall vignette to welcome the season.
This year, I chose burnt orange mums. I’ve had every colour, however, I find the brighter coloured mums pop more so than yellow (not enough contrast against my house) and white. The corn I lay out on a table or place it on a tray. Really simple.
So, as much as I tried to hang on to Summer and resist “Autumnatizing”, I’m glad I have begun!
