Recently on Hometalk, I posted a few organizational ideas (to my surprise) that have become popular. Although, they aren’t fancy, the containers are functional! You could easily dress them up, but because they are inside a drawer and I did not.
I am a tea drinker and was wondering what to do with the empty boxes? Our media drawer was a mess and I was tired of all the cords becoming tangled and how unorganized it looked. This is on a good day.So after some thought, I decided to repurpose the tea boxes to house the cords! First, I cut the boxes down in size to make them more shallow. Second, by using the remainder of the box, I made little folders the same height as the box.
I then placed the folder inside the box to create a compartment for each cord.
The finished product! Not fancy, but functional! You can paint the boxes or cover them with craft paper if you want them to look pretty! 😉 Everything is organized.
Although my tea boxes did the trick, I decided to improve my idea! Although the cords stay in place by tucking the ends in, I wanted to create an organizational container where I didn’t have to fuss with the cords. My little guy loves Pringles and I have many left over cans. First, I cut the container with a knife about 4 inches down on each side. It’s important to keep the cylinder shape, so don’t cut the space in between to large.
After that, trim the can to make the sides even, but make sure not to trim to much!
See how the can still has high edges. Insert the cords into the can! They will not unravel and you can store many!
The cords will stay in place without having to fuss with them! Please subscribe for more great ideas and projects! 😉
